The Darlington Stock Car Association will have a Honda Accord 4-cylinder stock car auctioned off to the highest bidder at the Lafayette County Speedway on opening night of the races May 1st, 2009 during intermission.
The car was donated by First Capital Salvage in Belmont, WI, with the help of Jack Roth, race director, to the Darlington High School Auto Tech class. Jack and The Darlington Stock Car Association provided all other necessary items needed to build the stock car. The class has finished their school project, and the car is ready to race.
Jack Roth was hired by The Darlington Stock Car Association as the race director for the 2009 season. We are saddened to announce that Jack passed away on April 15th, 2009, following a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jack had a crew of family, friends, and workers ready to help him run the races whether it be "with Jack" or "for Jack". Racing for the 2009 season will continue as planned "for Jack".
Racing begins April 25th with a test and tune for the drivers. Friday night dirt track racing will start May 1st, 2009 with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. www.lafayettecountyspeedway.com DO IT IN THE DIRT!
